Students Perform in OAKE Honor Choir

The Organization of American Kodaly Educators (OAKE) National Conference is an annual event occurring in a different city each year throughout the United States, bringing together well-known clinicians, educators, and conductors over the course of four days, culminating in a Saturday performance of the students who have been selected to participate in the National Choirs. The conference features four auditioned OAKE National Conference Choirs, divided by age, each led by a nationally renowned conductor.

The twelve NPS students who were selected through a national audition process participated in the Children's Choir for Grades 4-5 (8 students) and the Youth Choir for Grades 6-8 (4 students).

The students traveled to Columbus, Ohio with their parents, where they went through through a rigorous 4-day rehearsal schedule culminating in a performance at the Mershon Auditorium at the Wexner Center for over 1500 people.

Congratulations to our honor choir participants and music teacher & chorus director Katie Shuford for all of their hard work leading to this tremendous experience!
