Hosted by Tianna Butler, NPS Associate Director of Admissions and Diversity Coordinator, we were pleased to present the first of our Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Parent Education Series on Wednesday, September 30 with a discussion of Race, Revolution and Reality: How to Talk to Your Kids About Protests and Racial Inequity.
With recent racial unrest and protests for equity and justice, our communities are often flooded with information and images that can be hard for our children to process. How do we talk to our kids about racism, about the current events taking place in our nation, and how they affect those in our communities?
NPS faculty, administrators, and other community members discussed how to have these challenging conversations with students at various ages and grade levels and share resources and tips for how to do so productively and age-appropriately.
