Student cutting painted paper

We read lots of books by Eric Carle and looked at all of the illustrations. We decided to see if we could use his technique to create our own masterpieces.

We used texture plates to make rubbings with tracing paper and crayons.

We painted the tracing paper with lots of different colors

We used stencils to trace shapes onto the painted tracing paper.

We cut out the shapes and glued them on white paper. We added details to our pictures using the different colored scraps we had left.
