A Day in the Life: Pre-Kindergarten

Our Pre-Kindergarten students are studying the letter C and exploring this subject through exercises in identifying colors and shapes. Some of the activities include, coin and color block sorting, painting color wheels and candy corn, and creating colorful and abstract "shape" cars.

In the color block activity, students were given a handful of blocks and asked to sort them by color. After they had sorted them by color, they were guided by their teacher to create repeating patterns using the blocks.

Through the use of manipulatives and instructional tools these small group and individual hands-on activities help students explore and reinforce the concept of the letter C while making connections through colors and shapes.
