students compete in the NPS Geography Bee

On February 22, 2019 5 teams each consisting of a 4th, 5th, and 6th Grader competed in the annual NPS Geography Bee, hosted by 5th Grade teacher Mr. Sumner.

Over 14 rounds, students collaborated in their teams to solve tough questions, many with multiple parts, about US and World Geography.

Do you know more geography than our Cardinals? Here are some sample questions from today's event:

1. Can you name the state between Nebraska and Oklahoma AND the capital of the state directly to its east?

2. What country is in both Europe and Asia AND what two oceans does it border?

3. What is the geographic term for a small body of water that connects two larger bodies of water AND on what continent is the Magellan one of these features?

No Googling - you have 30 seconds!

Team 5 emerged victorious against stiff competition. Well done to all of the competitors!
