NPS Hosts Diversity Institute

The 2nd annual NPS Summer Diversity Institute with Rosetta Lee took place at National Presbyterian School from July 10th-13th.

Over the course of two sessions, 75 teachers and administrators from 22 area schools (PreK-8th grade) discussed important topics such as developmental markers for recognizing difference, cultural competence, gender identity, and integrating diversity, equity, and inclusion standards into pre-existing curricula.

NPS teachers and administrators were also on hand to assist other schools in developing lessons and units of study around respectful dialogue and adopting multiple perspectives.

The Diversity Institute is the summer highlight for many attendees who often return to NPS in the fall for a tour of the school and a follow up presentation from Ms. Lee.
