Fourth grade enjoyed a fantastic team building field trip to Camp Calleva as part of the NPS outdoor education program.
The children were placed in three teams and took part in many exciting activities including a ropes course led by the Calleva staff. The giant swing had children showing off their bird wings and dance moves as they were suspended high up. Their friends helped to hoist them up and carefully removed the ladder.
Team building skills were important as they traveled balance beams and solved a puzzle in the woods. The highlight for many was flying through the air on the enormous zip line. Many skills were developed including communication and collaboration. One child said that she even forgot she was still at school!
The countryside was beautiful and there was also the opportunity to pet the rabbits and see horses and sheep at the Calleva farm.
All in all, a great day out for fourth grade.
