Family Resides In: Washington, DC Grade(s) of Child(ren): 1st Grade and Pre-K 4 What I looked for in a school: A vibrant community, dedicated not only to classroom education but also to guiding and counseling kids to grow into good people with strong core values. It was also important that our kids enjoy and thrive at school, which they do at NPS. About Me: This is our fourth year at NPS. We were impressed with how thoughtfully NPS navigated the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. Since then, we've enjoyed the traditions that promote family involvement. We also value NPS's responsiveness and communication.

Lives in: Washington, DC Grade(s) of Child(ren): 2nd Grade What I looked for in a school: I wanted a place that celebrates childhood but also prepares students socially and academically. About Me: I graduated from NPS in 1995. I remember each of my teachers for a reason: they were truly committed to their students. My daughter has been at NPS for two years, and it is clear to me that the standards for teacher excellence have not changed.

Family Resides In: Washington, DC Grade(s) of Child(ren): 2nd Grade (and future Cardinal!) What I looked for in a school: We were attracted to NPS's dedicated educators and the school's social-emotional learning emphasis starting in the earliest grades. About Me: I work in education and have found NPS incredibly warm, thoughtful, and nurturing for my oldest daughter. We've been with the school for 5 years, and she regularly comes home excited to share her work and stories. We are grateful to NPS for the joy! Cantonese speaking.

Family Resides In: Washington, DC Grade(s) of Child(ren): Kindergarten (and future Cardinal!) What I looked for in a school: We sought a warm and nurturing environment, so that our child would feel safe and cared for at school. Diversity was another key factor, as we hoped our child would be exposed to a wide range of backgrounds and perspectives. What we love about NPS: NPS immediately embraced our family, making us feel like an integral part of the school community from day one. And, it is evident that they prioritize the partnership between parents and educators.

Family Resides In: Washington, DC Grade(s) of Child(ren): 1st Grade What we looked for in a school: A caring, nurturing and engaging environment that pays attention to a child's individuality and teaches the important values of being a member of the society. What we love about NPS: We love the community, which feels like a big family. The teachers truly care about the students and families. The school makes everything from after care to school lunch flexible to accommodate the different needs of families. The curriculum is both rigorous and adaptive. Our son loves going to school every day.
