Athletics
The development of a positive self-image and the enjoyment of physical activities are important aspects of the Physical Education program at National Presbyterian School. From the youngest children who participate in numerous opportunities to run, skip, jump, and hop to the oldest students who refine their skills and learn team sports; teachers challenge each student to develop his or her individual skills and talents.
At all levels, physical fitness activities, such as the School’s Mile Run Club, encourage the children to challenge themselves. As the students participate in a variety of different movement and body control exercises, they also learn the rules and strategies of more organized team sports and games.
Fifth and Sixth graders may join the School’s League Sports teams. Each season, students can choose to join teams to compete against students from other similar independent schools. Soccer, basketball, and softball are available. A lacrosse clinic is also held each Spring for interested students in Grades 4-6.
