Pre-Kindergarten 3 - Age 3 by September 1; must be toilet trained

Pre-Kindergarten 4 - Age 4 by September 1

Kindergarten - Age 5 by September 1

Grade 1 and up - Next sequential grade or as determined by parents and NPS

All applications are submitted online via Ravenna. To begin, click on the “Apply Now” button on this page.  There are no required essays, so filling out this form is quick and easy. If you would like to share additional information about your child or family, there is an Optional Parent Comments form that you may submit.

From your Ravenna application page you may complete all steps of the application process.

For all applicant families who don’t currently attend NPS, a parent visit is required.  Either a virtual small group information session or an individual visit with Admissions staff (in-person or Zoom) fulfills this requirement. These informative meetings are a great way for you to take a first look at our school and ask questions. You may schedule a visit before you submit an application, and once you apply we will consider this application requirement complete.

To supplement your required visit, please note that there are additional events that will allow you to dive more deeply into our curriculum and other important components of the NPS experience including weekly in-person group tours, virtual topic-focused Coffee & Conversation, and opportunities to join us at NPS community events.

Applicants to Pre-Kindergarten 3 - Kindergarten will participate in an an in-person playdate giving us an opportunity to observe children as they play and take part in activities under the supervision of NPS educators.  You will register your child for a playdate on your NPS application page in Ravenna.

Applicants to First Grade and above will spend a day with their current grade at NPS, participating in all activities as well as spending time one-on-one with a learning specialist to assess their current skills.

Priority Recommendations Due: December 5, 2022

Teacher Recommendations (All):  For all applicants who attend a day care or school, we require a recommendation form to be filled out and submitted by the student’s current teacher. Once you apply, you will email (or delegate) the AISGW Common Recommendation Form to your child’s teacher from your NPS application page in Ravenna.

Testing:  We do not request admissions testing.

Transcripts: (Grades 2 and above) :  For our older applicants, we require your child’s current school to send us a transcript.  A Transcript Request Form to be submitted to your child's current school is available to print from your NPS application page in Ravenna.

Notification Date: March 3, 2023

Making these decisions for young children, admittedly, is more art than science. We use the range of information we gather through the admissions process, but we have no rigid formulas or checklists. The entire admissions process is designed to get to know parents and applicants personally with a goal to have a dynamic, close-knit, inclusive learning community.
