Apply to NPS

We’re delighted that you’re interested in National Presbyterian School. We realize that the process of finding the right school for your child can seem overwhelming. So we try to make our admissions process easy to navigate, enjoyable, and educational for you.

Please take some time to get to know NPS by exploring our website, contacting us with questions, scheduling a visit, or attending an Open House. Once you decide to apply, there are basically three main steps:

Submit an application

We encourage families to apply online. Once we’ve received your application, we’ll contact you to plan the next steps in the application process.

Schedule a parent meeting

These informative meetings are a great way for us to learn more about you, your child, and your goals for his or her education, and for you to get to know us better.

Bring your child for a visit

Playdates for applicants to Nursery (age 3), Pre-Kindergarten, and Kindergarten give us an opportunity to observe children as they play games and take part in other activities under the supervision of NPS educators. Applicants to Grade 1 or above spend a day visiting in a classroom at their current grade level.

Testing and Transcripts

Students applying for Kindergarten or higher grades must complete testing. Those applying for Grade 2 or above need to submit a transcript of previous schoolwork.

Once You Apply

We invite applicant families to attend assemblies, Chapel services, holiday celebrations, and other community events during the school year.

How We Make Admissions Decisions

Making admissions decisions about children as young as 2 or 3 years old admittedly is more art than science. We use the range of information we gather through the admissions process, but we have no rigid formulas or checklists. The main thing we look for is fit—our goal is to have a rich, warm, and diverse learning community at NPS, and the entire admissions process is designed to identify children who will thrive here.

Throughout the admissions process, NPS confirmed again and again why it is our top choice school.
