Governance and Oversight

National Presbyterian School is non-profit, tax exempt and operates as an educational institution under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.

The school is governed by a Board of Trustees in accordance with the general policies of the Session of The National Presbyterian Church. The Board has thirteen voting members, at least six of whom must be members of the Church. The Treasurer of the Church's Board of Trustees and the Head of School serve as ex-officio members with the right to vote, and both the PA President and one faculty member serve as non-voting representatives.

Board members are elected to three-year terms that must be approved by Session. parents, faculty, and staff may be invited to Board meetings for special presentations, or appointed to committees.

The Board meets monthly, except for July and August, and oversees the administration and operation of the School, in accordance with the 2007-2009 Interim Strategic Plan.
